A concert of my works will be presented in Oporto, Portugal in the fall of 2010. Works included will be TIME CYCLES, AGREEMENTS & DISAGREEMENTS, MOUNTAIN DANCES, DANCE FRAMES and CELSIUS 961.
SONGS WITHOUT WORDS for soprano & Piano, premiered Nov 2007, has since been performed by Conundrum of Cincinnati OH. and by Dawn Weiss at the CSU Chico New Music Festival in 2009. The work has 4 songs with jazz influences. AGREEMENTS & DISAGREEMENTS for 2tubas & Drums was premiered and recorded in Portugal July, 2008. World class tubist, Sergio Carolino also recorded TIME CYCLES for Tuba & Electronics in 2007. The album received the Roger Bobo award for excellence.
POPOKI, The Color of Peace, a DVD commissioned for the Japanese Peace Museum in Tokyo, with crayon drawings by Ronnie Alexander, is available as a book and DVD in Japanese and English.
Polarities on 4 strings for String Quartet was premiered June 2009 at the WET INK New Music Festival in Grass Valley, Ca. The Del Sol Quartet, a premeire San Francisco based group performed. Nevada County Composer's Cooperative.
MOUNTAIN DANCES, a 4 mvt. work had Mountain Dance ,(Ride the Breeze), re-scored for Choir, Piano and solo Tenor Saxophone . It was premiered in the Music in the Mountains Summer Festival 2009 and appears on a soaring video. Other Mountain Dances, (Spring and Winter) were re-scored for Soprano Sax, Tuba , String Quartet and Piano and are receiving a recorded performance in Portugal with and E broadcast this summer of 2010.
CELSIUS 961 for solo Flute was premiered at the N.C.C.C. Sound & Vision Festival, Feb. 2010 and accompanied two Tai Chi forms. It may be heard & seen on YouTube.
New choral works, BUT HAVE NOT LOVE for SATB and 4 percussion with text from the Bible, 1st Corinthians verse 13 is being premiered at the WET INK New Music Festival, June , 2010 and WE ARE ONE for SATB chorus and Orchestra has its premiere at the Music in the Mountains Summer Festival, July 2010.
RUSH HOUR Jerry Grant and the L.A. Nujazz Alternative is available on cdbaby.com. and is receiving airplay in many parts of the world thru RaidoDirectX. The NUJAZZ ALTERNATIVE also lives as a new sextet with Jerry performing on tenor sax & synth.
